So I was sitting here thinking, and realized that I NEVER shared with the Mob some of the biggest news of 2019 (outside of our engagement). WE’RE BUYING A HOUSE! OMG, we really cannot believe it. It’s been a long time coming, but we’re super excited to get in and get settled, whenever that’ll be (don’t get me started!).

Isa and I started house hunting this summer. We spent our free weekends going to open houses, checking out new neighborhoods, and making detailed lists of what we liked and disliked about each home. We’d looked at tons and crossed town homes off our list until we found THE ONE.

Isa actually found the neighborhood one Saturday during a drive around Charlotte. I was out of town, so he decided to do some casual hunting. Little did I know, he was busy scouting out our perfect home! He couldn’t wait for me to come back so we could go check it out together. I literally walked into the model and said… THIS IS IT! I loved everything about this home, from the open concept downstairs to the layout of the bedrooms upstairs, to the laundry room, and the master closet. It was perfect and a great starter home for us. We don’t have to worry about grass, AND we have plenty of space for Isa’s baby girl (my soon to be bonus daughter) when she comes for summers and holidays!

And so the process begins. This area was brand spanking new, so our home hadn’t even been built yet. I never understood why people would say the home-buying process is stressful…UNTIL NOW. Especially with us dealing with a home being built from the ground up; SO much can happen. Dates get pushed back (our closing has been pushed like 5 times), lots of approvals…the list goes on.

We’re trying so hard to be patient, but we also don’t want to be homeless, either! LOL! I really didn’t want to move twice; I wanted to be able to pack up our apartment and move straight into our home, BUT, you never know. We may be crashing at my moms for a few weeks until we close. Pray for us! (Just kidding. I, love you, Millie!)

Even with all the stress, this is still an exciting time. We decided that buying our first home together was more important than planning a wedding, so that’s what we did. When we get settled in, I’ll get back to wedding planning and of course, I’ll update you guys on our decision. We’re working with my friend Amber from Blessed Little Bungalow on our home and we can’t wait for her to bring it to life. She has so many cool ideas up her sleeve, and if my glam room is any indication of how she’ll transform our new home, I can’t freakin’ wait!

Until then, I hope you guys enjoy what we’ve been able to snap on this home buying journey. It’s been a lot, but being able to do this with my favorite person ever has made it a little less stressful (he’s the calm one).

Oh! One last thing: what do you guys think about this sofa? OMG, I’m SO excited to decorate.

XOXO,
