I really can’t believe fall is here! Well, with the 75 degree temperatures here in Charlotte, it’s been kind of hard to get in the groove of the seasons changing. As many of you all know, I’m a summer baby through and through! Give me warm weather, sun, and a beach ANY DAY over the snow. But one thing I do love about fall is the fashion! OMG…chunky knits, leather pants, turtle necks (I love a good turtle), over-the-knee boots, I mean the list goes on. But the NEWEST fall trend I’m in love with? The Shacket.

I know, I know…you’re probably over there thinking, what is a shacket?! Well let me put you on game. Simply put, it’s a shirt and a jacket combined! Surprised? LOL. This is probably the coolest trend I’m all over this season. I’m a girl who doesn’t like super heavy coats, especially living down south where at any given moment, the weather goes from chilly to hot. And when you’re in and out of cars all the time versus on foot, it’s hard to find the right outerwear for this fickle season. I’m all about my layering, which is why I’ve fallen in love with the shacket.

They come in several different styles, from long ankle length to short waist length. I’ve been obsessed with the plaid options, but they have solids and other prints, too! The shacket isn’t as heavy as a coat, but it’s also not as thin as a shirt. It’s a happy medium that doesn’t make you compromise style for warmth.

I like to layer mine over sweatsuits, with a turtleneck underneath, a cute pair of jeans, or layered over a dress and long boots. The possibilities are endless when it comes to this fashion trend.

If you’re thinking about adding a shacket to your wardrobe or playing around with them this fall, you know your girl has you covered! I’ve found a few cute ones to get you started on your collection.
