Allow me to reintroduce myself! Hey, y’all! My name is Melissa Chanel CARNEGIE, wife of Isa Carnegie. Yep, your girl is a WHOLE WIFE!

This past September, I married the love of my life and my bestest friend. I know you guys have seen Isa make some appearances here on the blog, and if you follow me on the ‘gram, you’ve already seen our wedding photos (which are bomb as hell, if I do say so myself). It wasn’t until recently that I realized I never shared our wedding day here with you guys on the blog!

We’d originally planned our wedding date September 24th, 2020 but because of the pandemic, decided to push our traditional wedding back to 2021 so we could safely celebrate with family and friends from around the country. Of course, with our hearts still set on our original date, we decide to have a super small ceremony in Charlotte with our parents, siblings, and a few aunts and uncles.

Isa and I wed at a beautiful rose garden here in Charlotte, one that I absolutely loved from the moment we laid eyes on it. McGill Rose Garden is a small garden in Charlotte, NC where you can have a cool girls night, date night, or of course, your wedding day! It’s tucked away in the NODA area of Charlotte; most people drive right by, not noticing what a gem it is. Immediately after visiting it, I knew it was where I wanted to say “I do” to Mr. Carnegie

Since the garden already had beautiful flowers and greenery, we didn’t need much decor at all. My friend Brandi of Bees Vintage Rental let me borrow one of her amazing chairs for photos, and we added flowers from Fifty Flowers (they loved it and did a write up here) to complete the vision.

Our day was perfect and filled with love!

I found my dress at missguided, and Isa’s suit was custom from Indochino. As a nod to our love and obsession with kicks, we decided to wear sneakers and snagged our all white Nike Sacai’s from Stockx!

We’ll have our traditional wedding in September 24, 2021 (on our one year anniversary), and can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends!

If you’re a bride trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic, don’t give into feelings of sadness about having to pivot and move your date around. If you have to do something smaller or a local elopement to keep everyone safe, I promise your family and friends will understand.

Ultimately, you’re keeping your family safe, and can focus on what really matters: starting your happily ever after with the person you love.

XOXO,
