Have you ever felt like you just needed to take a couple days and get away? Maybe it’s due to a slump, or maybe you need a change of scenery to get your creative juices flowing. Well, that was me last week, and I desperately needed to get away from Charlotte for a non-work-related cause. Hey, it was Spring Break! And even though my school days are over, I decided to join the students and take my talents down to Myrtle Beach, SC.
My good friends over at Hotel BLUE treated me to an amazing 3-day stay at their beautiful hotel. I had access to an indoor and outdoor pool, a swim up bar, a bowling alley, delicious restaurants nearby, and the best view EVER. Who can pass up that offer? I certainly wouldn’t.
After checking into Hotel BLUE, I couldn't help but notice the swanky lobby area. It boasted a gorgeous bar and modern decor with the cutest tables, chairs, and swings (yes, swings!). Talk about lobby goals! I hadn’t even entered my room yet, but the trip was looking up already.
So what did I do on my spring break? Well, contrary to the statement above, I…ummm... worked, haha. I tried to completely unplug, but I found myself so relaxed and at peace that my mind was clear enough to be productive. I did spend lots of time on the beach; the weather was perfect so I took my notebooks and magazines outside while I laid out and soaked up some rays. When I wasn’t on the beach, I was lounging on the balcony and spending time with my best friend (On this trip, the swim-up bar was my BFF…sorry real life best friends! LOL).
Okay, ready for the room? It had a full kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and a bedroom area for two people. I couldn't help but smile when I saw the cute little towel animals; it made me feel like I was on a Caribbean cruise. And that wasn’t the only “Caribbean” feel I got from the room. It was so quiet and peaceful, which reminded me of the relaxation I feel when I’m on an island. Not exaggerating, guys! I was convinced that because it was Spring Break, I’d deal with excessive “Woo!” and partying from my neighbors, but nope, it was smooth sailing, and I could hear the ocean perfectly clear whenever I stepped out on my balcony.
The swim up bar gave major Vegas vibes, and if you follow me on IG you've already heard this. I spent a lot of time grabbing a drink and just chillin' in the sun. It's always 5pm somewhere, right?! I don’t know if it was the drinking or me just feeling completely at ease, but I definitely fell asleep on the beach more than once.
All in all, my stay was amazing. The staff at Hotel BLUE were amazing; they made sure I remained comfortable at every turn and had my room stocked with all the essentials. The hotel grounds had tons of parking, was spic and span, and most importantly, peaceful! I may or may not have shed a tear when it was time to get back to reality.
If you're ever thinking about heading to Myrtle Beach for a quick getaway, you’ve gotta get to Hotel BLUE. And fun fact, I hear they have amazing pool parties on Sundays. The next time I’m in town for the weekend, you bet I’ll be there!
Oh! And when you book your stay, make sure to walk over to Loco Gecko. You’ll thank me, I promise!
