All Things FAB

Hope you guys had an awesome weekend. I really enjoyed my weekend but we will chat about that later! NOW I have a really great feature for you guys. I met this DOLL at Passport for Fashion Show a couple of weeks a go, she was one of the vendors that caught my eye with her beautiful jewelry. After chatting we reconnected and I wanted to share some of her pieces with everyone. Chanel is the owner of All Things FAB and here's a little bit about how she got started.....

Tell me a little about yourself and how you got started in the accessory business?

From a young age, I’ve always been extremely creative, possessed a love for fashion and knew I would eventually have a career in fashion.  In 2009, I designed some jewelry for myself.  There were styles I envisioned that I could not find anywhere else.  I wanted large, over-the-top peacock feather earrings with chains.  The stores in my area didn’t have many options, so I decided to get the materials and just make them myself.  Designing jewelry evolved into All Things Fabulous.  I registered my company’s name that year but did not have a plan.  Over time, the idea for my company evolved.   In 2011, I graduated college and realized my ultimate goal was to work for myself.  I created a business plan, contacted some of the hottest jewelry designers, and took action to launch my company.

How long has All Things Fabulous been open for business?

All Things Fabulous officially launched on April 21, 2012.  To celebrate the launch, All Things Fabulous participated as a vendor in Passport for Fashion.  The response to the jewelry was incredible.

Are any of the pieces created by you?

Right now, All Things Fabulous is a collection of various jewelry designers.  All pieces are handpicked by me, but not created by me.  I may design jewelry again in the future.

How often do you add new pieces to your site?

I plan to add pieces seasonally.

What inspires you when deciding what will be placed on your website?

I have to love the piece at first sight.  With me, it’s all or nothing.  If I don’t love it, I won’t be able to sell it.  Additionally, the piece has to be bold, crafted with quality, unique, and fabulous

What's one piece of advice you have for someone trying to follow in your footsteps?

This may sound cliché, but you have to keep pushing forward no matter what.  It’s definitely easier said than done.  Follow your instincts and be careful whom you ask for advice.  If the person has not accomplished what you want to accomplish, do not take advice from them.  They are merely guessing.  Also, stay positive and learn from the past.  Find something you’re passionate about and do it well.  Aim to be better than what’s out there.

Anything else you would like to add?

Be an individual.  Trends are cool, but they come and go.  Find your own sense of style and be confident in your choices.
