Healthy Snacks On-the-Go

Healthy Snacks On-the-Go

If you follow me on social media (you ARE following me on social media, right?), you’ll notice that I travel ... A LOT. If I'm not out and about with my Cantu crew, I'm traveling for speaking engagements, visiting family and friends, or enjoying a much-needed vacation. The absolute hardest part of all this jet-setting isn’t the packing (even though I can never just sit and throw my outfits into a suitcase; it’s a whole two-day process). The hardest part of all this traveling is making smart and healthy food choices. It really is so hard to live a healthy lifestyle while always on the road. I do plan out my meals in my head—fruit, veggies, and smoothies as a snack, salad for my meals, etc.—but then one delayed plane throws my plans all the way off. Next thing you know, I’m passing up the fruit cups and headed straight to the real airport food court. Because this jet-setting life isn’t slowing down any time soon, I decided to team up with my trainer Taylor to get some helpful advice on ways to stay healthy, and of course, I had to share it with my fellow jet-setting gals/fellas over here on the blog.

Here’s what Taylor had to say...

As busy as you are, it is important that you have the proper fuel to get you through your day and stay on track for your health goals. Here are a few of my favorite on-the-go snacks that pack in plenty of protein along with other key nutrients to give you lasting energy.

  • 2 Boiled Eggs
  • Banana & Peanut Butter Pack
  • Edamame
  • String Cheese & Almonds
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Protein Bar (Protein: 10 – 24g, Fiber: 5g or more, Sugar: less than 15g)
  • Turkey Roll-ups with Tomatoes and peppers
  • Hummus w/ Carrot Sticks, Grape Tomatoes or Cucumber Slices
  • Tuna Pack & Veggie Sticks
  • 100-Calorie Almond or Nut Packs
  • 1 Rice cake & Nut Butter
  • Protein Shake (Protein: 10g or more, Sugar: 10g or less)
  • Apple Slices & Trail Mix (1 serving)
  • Snack Size Cottage Cheese & Fruit

Now, who's ready to head to the grocery store and do some snack prep? A lot of these items can be packed into our carry-on or overnight bags. If my schedule stays as is (I’m willing to bet it won’t), I have a good two weeks in town before I'm headed back out again, so you can bet I'll be taking this list with me. Thanks, Taylor!

If you're interested in learning more about Taylor or booking her for training services, click here. She's amazing, and pushes me to get in tip top shape. She even gives me workouts for the hotel, which is extra clutch on days where the airport food courts have gotten the best of me.

Sure, my “summer body" may be a little late, but a healthy lifestyle is more of what I'm focused on!

Until next time,
