I'm sooo excited to share the news that I'm headed to Essence Festival for the first time with my Cantu Crew! Out booth will be a part of the Beauty & Style Expo inside of the Convention Center. Feel free to stop by to chat all things hair, styling, products, giveaways, and more. Make sure you're following me on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat (MelissaChanel1) & Facebook for more updates. Okay now on to the good stuff.

I have three fun and comfy outfits/hairstyles that are perfect for this type of festival. I've been hearing it will be super humid and there will be a lot of walking. So all my natural ladies don't expect a lot of definition, this may be the perfect time to just let your fro go free! The first outfit is perfect for all the fun concerts you'll partake in. The inspiration came from all the vibrant color I remember seeing when I traveled to New Orleans last April, remember?! All three looks are just as fun, flirty, and comfortable as this one. My hair is a  twist out on dry hair using Cantu Coconut Curling Cream which is my go-to hairstyle. Here's the full look.

I always get the question, "How do you get your fro so big?" Well, I use my favorite tool, a hair pick.

Jumper- Old Navy | Sneakers- Lady Foot Locker | Purse: Furla | Sunglasses: NY Street Vendor

Day party anyone? I heard there will be a lot of people and a lot of walking. Don't stress your feet or try walking in heels all day. I have the perfect solution for your hair, outfit, and feet.

Worried about the humid weather? I have you covered. This easy pin up style was achieved with one hair tie, three bobby pins, and Cantu's Shine & Hold Mist along with the Edge Control. This is an easy funky style that'll have you day party ready, for sure!

Top & Shorts: Old Navy | Gladiator Sandals: Target | Sunglasses: Raybans | Bag: Henri Bendel

See, you can still be cute and comfortable without worrying about long walks or high heel shoes. I opted to add my Target gladiators with this Old Navy matching set. I really enjoy traveling with matching sets because it's a full outfit, it's fun, and you don't have to put too much thought into the look for the day. This is the perfect outfit for a day party in New Orleans or brunch/lunch.

And last but not least, here's the perfect outfit for a fun night out on the town. Like I've said before the humid weather will do a number on your fro, but embrace it!  Use that frizz and shrinkage to your advantage by creating fun & easy hairstyles.

This is an easy half up half down hairstyle where I left out a little bang for fun. I used one hair tie, Cantu's Edge Control, a little Anti-Fade Oil, and we have a new easy style. It's hard when traveling as a natural sometimes to bring all your supplies so I wanted to come up with easy styles that didn't need much product and/or effort because your Festival time is precious! And don't forget Cantu has a travel set that's perfect for traveling with a carry on and not stressing about your product selection!

Dress: H&M | Shoes: H&M | Sunglasses: Prada | Bag: Aldo (old)

Headed out for a night on the town? This dress can transition from day to night by the change of the lipstick if you don't have much time. Now you're dressed, your hair is fly and you're ready to party!

Remember not to overthink it when packing for a festival. Take light-weight clothing so you won't get overheated and pack your travel size hair products, you won't regret it. The Cantu Travel Kit can be found at KMart or your local beauty supply store!
